Stained Glass Laurel Folding Umbrella — a leaded-glass Laurel treatment covers the canopy in saturated panel color, printed inside and out. Because the print runs to the very edge of each panel, the canopy reads as one continuous image rather than eight printed segments.

The fabric is 100% waterproof polyester, treated so raindrops bead rather than absorb, and the canopy is oversized by 15cm — noticeably more shelter than the umbrella already in your bag. Closed, it measures around 30cm and slips into a bag pocket without a case; open, the canopy clears a shoulder bag as well as a head, which is what the extra width is for. The shaft is aluminium with fibreglass ribs, so it stays light without going flimsy.

The reinforced eight-rib structure and thickened metal axles are what stop it inverting on a gusty street corner. It opens automatically with one hand and folds down small enough for a bag. Folded it is short enough to stand upright in a backpack pocket, which is the difference between carrying one and leaving it by the door.
