About the Pop Art Sheep Jigsaw Puzzle

The Pop Art Sheep Jigsaw Puzzle renders the Sheep in flat, unapologetic blocks of color. Think screen print rather than painting. Six or seven strong colors, each doing a clear job. Outlines are thick and deliberate, which is what lets the image read from the far side of a room.

Composition came before decoration here – the picture has to work as a whole and then reward you piece by piece.

A good first puzzle in a while, or one to do with someone who claims not to like puzzles. The color does most of the sorting for you. Flat color makes the 1000-piece far more approachable than the count suggests. Keep the reference poster where you can see it. On an image with this much going on it changes the whole experience.

A reasonable first puzzle in a while, and a reasonable hundredth. As a gift it has an advantage over a generic box: the recipient can tell it was chosen for them specifically. The picture is identical at all three counts – only the finished dimensions and the hours change – so pick by how long you want the evening to be.

The finished picture holds a wall on its own without needing anything hung beside it. It is filed under Cheerful: bright, good natured, and among the easiest here to sort.

The Pop Art Sheep Jigsaw Puzzle is part of our Street Art Puzzles collection, where you will find every other design drawn in the same manner – useful if you like this treatment and want it applied to a different subject.

The pop art collection is the loudest thing in the catalogue and the easiest to build. Flat blocks, hard outlines, colors that argue with each other on purpose. These were drawn for people whose walls are already painted a strong color and who want art that competes rather than blends. They are also the group we recommend for a first puzzle in years, because the color does most of the sorting work for you. Worth knowing before you buy: these are the puzzles most likely to be finished in a single sitting and immediately started again by somebody else.

Sizes and build times
Pieces Finished size Typical build time Skill level
300 pieces 25×35cm 1–2 hours Easy
500 pieces 38×52cm 3–4 hours Moderate
1000 pieces 50×75cm 6–10 hours Challenging

The figures assume an uninterrupted table. Spread across a few evenings, a 1000-piece typically lands closer to a fortnight than to a single sitting.

How it is made

Every puzzle is built from two bonded layers. The artwork is printed on the top layer at full resolution with a low-glare finish, so the picture stays readable under a lamp instead of throwing light back at you. Underneath sits a thin wooden layer that gives each piece its stiffness and its snap. Pieces this thin would curl or peel if they were board alone; the wood backing is what keeps an edge crisp after the puzzle has been built, broken down and built again.

Every puzzle is fully assembled once before it ships and then broken down and boxed. It is slower than packing loose pieces off the press, and it is the only way to be certain the count is right and that no piece is missing from the box you receive.

Included with every order

A full-size reference poster is included with every order, printed from the same file as the puzzle, so you can work from the real image rather than a thumbnail on a lid. There is also a printed hint guide for the sections that need one, and the pieces arrive in a sealed bag inside a rigid box that survives a shelf.

After the last piece

If the puzzle is going on a wall, build it on a board or mat you can move, glue from the front with a standard puzzle adhesive, and let it dry flat overnight before lifting. The wooden backing keeps the sheet rigid while you work, which is the part that usually goes wrong with thin board. A finished 1000-piece at 50×75cm fits a standard large frame without a custom mount.

This artwork is exclusive to Art of Socks. It was commissioned for this catalogue and licensed nowhere else, so the finished picture is not one anybody will recognize from a supermarket aisle.

Which size to pick

Piece count is the only real decision here

The artwork, the poster and the board are the same whichever of the three you choose. These are honest estimates for one person, poster face down — most people beat them once they start using the poster properly.

Every puzzle is assembled in full before it ships, then dismantled and boxed
How it's built

A printed top layer over a thin wooden layer, bonded together

The print runs at full resolution with a low-glare finish, so the picture reads properly beside a lamp. The wooden layer does the structural work: it gives each piece weight in the hand, a definite snap on seating, and edges that stay clean after the puzzle has been built and broken down more than once.

Every single puzzle is assembled in full before it ships, then dismantled and boxed. That check is the only way to guarantee a complete count, and it is worth the extra step.

Quality control

Pre-assembled in full before packing, so the count is guaranteed.

Poster reference

Printed from the same file as the artwork.

Lettered backing

Optional guidance that never shows on the front.

After the last piece

A beautiful work of art completed by you and your family

Create something special together, piece by piece, and enjoy the satisfaction of completing a beautiful work of art as a family.

The finished picture holds a wall on its own without needing anything hung beside it. No custom mount needed — the part that usually goes wrong with thin board is the lift, and the wooden backing keeps the sheet rigid while you work.

Designed with a secure interlocking fit, each piece locks firmly into place as you complete the puzzle—no glue needed. Once finished, your family’s creation becomes a beautiful work of art that can stand proudly on its own or be framed and displayed as a lasting piece of wall art.
